Hong Kong head home after disappointing Emerging Cup campaign

Hong Kong have left Bangladesh following a disappointing tour that included three defeats in as many matches.

Heavy losses to Bangladesh and Pakistan U23 sides, were followed by a seven-wicket loss against Nepal in the final match.

Hong Kong interim coach Charlie Burke said he was disappointed with the performances but noted some positives from the tour.

"Effectively this was also an under 23 team for us we brought over here," Burke said.

"It was a great learning experience for our young players to play against full member players and in tournament play overseas."

"Our fielding let us down, which was disappointing and our rotation of strike against the spinners put us under pressure with the bat. The performances were not up to our standard but lots for the guys to work on during the off-season."

"I thought young Cameron McAuslan showed a lot of promise with the bat and Anshuman Rath looked in good form once again. Our bowlers generally bowled well, but found out that at this level your mistakes are punished."

Hong Kong now have a long break of fixtures, with the men's team at this stage not schedule to play again until October.
