Hong Kong Set to Play Cricket’s Elite in Asia Tournament


The 2018 Unimoni Asia Cup starts tomorrow, running from 15th to 28th September 2018 in Dubai, and Hong Kong are set to come up against two of the games global heavyweights, as they will face both India and Pakistan. 

Hong Kong is currently outside of the top ranking tier provided by the International Cricket Council, but earned their right to be at this prestigious competition by winning the qualifying tournament held last week in Malaysia. The team beat UAE in the final, winning a thrilling match. 

The Asia Cup features the regions best 6 teams and takes place every two years. The current holders are India. This is an wonderful platform for the Hong Kong players to showcase their talents, given the fanatical following of their opponents - an average of 130 million people watch India’s international matches.
