LIVE: Hong Kong v Papua New Guinea


Hong Kong are taking on Papua New Guinea in the final round of the ICC Intercontinental Cup in Sharjah.

PNG won the toss and chose to bat first, with Cameron McAuslan receiving his cap on his First Class debut for Hong Kong.

Day two belonged to Babar Hayat, with the Hong Kong skipper batting from start to finish of play in reaching 140*. His score proved pivotal to Hong Kong taking a first innings lead as other batsmen struggled to score in the slow conditions. 

At stumps, Hong Kong were 269-8, a lead of 32.

On day one, Papua New Guinea made a strong start, reaching 90 before Nadeem Ahmed made the breakthrough.

That started a Hong Kong fightback, with Nadeem at the forefront - he took 5-71 as HK dismissed PNG for 237. On a wicket that was taking spin, off-spinner Ehsan Khan also chimed in with 3-66.

In reply, Hong Kong lost debutant McAuslan and Carter early to be 19-2 but Hayat (12*) and Anshuman Rath (20*) steadied to 50-2 by the close of play.
