Recruitment - Kowloon Cricket Club Head Coach


Head Cricket Coach – KCC

 

Established in 1904, the Kowloon Cricket Club (KCC) is a premiere sporting club in Hong Kong and enjoys a proud cricketing culture as a core sport of the Club, whilst maintaining the provision of a broad and diverse range of other sports and recreational pursuits.

Reporting to the Director of Cricket applicants for the position will be responsible for managing the on-field requirements of the Cricket Section including coaching the Men’s, Women’s and Junior sections within KCC. The role will also include, but may not be limited to, recruiting of junior and sporting subscribers and leading all on-field cricket related matters on behalf of the Cricket Section.

The preferred candidate should be an established Cricket coach with a Level 2 or above qualification and be actively coaching.

 

Job Duties:

·       Setting up, coordinating, attending and managing net practice for KCC cricket teams. At net practice, the employee will be expected to provide coaching.

·       Setting up, coordinating, attending and managing match day coaching for KCC cricket teams. At matches, the employee will be expected to provide coaching.

·       Attend and manage school and community group coaching sessions as directed by the Director of Cricket.

·       Recruiting both Sporting and Junior Subscribers to play for the Club within HK and abroad.

·       Attending Cricket section meetings as required.

·       Provide administrative support to the Director of Cricket.

·       Play for KCC Premier League and/or Sunday League teams as required.

·       Administer the clubs CricHQ and TeamApp pages.

·       Provide resources to assistant coaches to better their coaching.

·       Be available to meet with players to discuss their cricket, their thoughts and note concerns and assist them where possible to improve and enjoy their cricket.

·       Provide paid one on one coaching sessions as requested by members.  Note: Managing net and match day coaching takes priority.

·       To actively seek appropriate sponsorship for Men, Women and Junior Cricket sections.

·       Maintaining and/or assigning responsibility to the maintenance and cleanliness of the Cricket storage.

·       To promote a culture of cricketing equality; excellence, fair-play, and professionalism at KCC.

 

Job Selection Criteria:

The successful candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

·       Have substantive experience in Cricket Coaching with varied and diverse stakeholders.

·       Hold a minimum Level 2 coaching certificate from either the England Cricket Board, Cricket Australia, New Zealand Cricket or Cricket South Africa.

·       Preferable to have played or coached at First Class or List ‘A’ level or above.

·       Have a proven track-record in the delivering of large-scale junior programs (ages 5-12).

·       To possess the demeanour and confidence in communicating Cricket Section strategy across all parties.

·       To be able to define; implement; and deliver the vision and strategy as agreed with the Director of Cricket.

·       An excellent skill-set in communications and relationship building particularly with parents.

·       Key competences in developed or expanded Cricket Section digital platforms.

·       Fluency in written and spoken English with requisite computing knowledge. Cantonese language skills would also be an advantage.

 

Remuneration and other details:

 

·       An attractive and competitive remuneration package of salary, private coaching rates; MPF; medical and dental insurance cover; and other fringe benefits will be payable.

·       An initial two-year contract with opportunity to extend by one-year, subject to performance.  A bonus will be offered for the completion of three years.  Annual leave must be taken between May- July unless approved by the Director of Cricket.
