Under 19 Christmas Friendly

The 8- aside tournament was played on the 27th of December on the USRC multi-surface court. Warm ups were led by ex-South African National Captain Cri-zelda Brits and Hong Kong National players Mariko Hill and Yasmin Daswani.

Both Bauhinia (captained by Anum Ahmed) and Dragons (captained by Tanzeela Maqsood) exhibited high-levels of passion and potential.

In the first game Bauhinia won the toss and chose to bat.  Stand out performances were Akasha who took two wickets Maheen and Iqra who nabbed one apiece, as Bauhinia scored 45 runs in their 8 overs.  Maryam and Anum stood out in the batting department with both players showing positive intent and excellent awareness.

Then it was the Dragons turn to bat. Akasha again stood out with boundaries that were timed perfectly, with strong support from Sukh, Maheen, Iqra and Vanshika. From Bauhinia, Harsha led the way with two excellent wickets in the first over, whilst both Sabar and Anum claimed one wicket each.

In the end the Dragons prevailed, winning by just one run. The teams then played a second game which was won by Bauhinia. Overall the day was a huge success, and the girls are very keen to play as much cricket as they can. The future of Hong Kong Cricket looks promising indeed!
