Alison Siu and Tammy Chu talk about their debut tour

16 November 2017

Debut tour for Alison Siu and Tammy Chu, let see what they say about this trip.

Tammy Chu expressed the excitement about her first overseas training with Women's Team but nervous at the same time.

“It is an honor to be able to represent Hong Kong. Having played cricket for serveral years, I went on tour with my team CCC Fung Wong. However this is different, facing unfamiliar environment and training schedule that I’ve never encountered before, but I will do my best.”

After three days training in India, Tammy said: “Away from my everyday environment allows me to focus more on cricket training. I feel that I am able to retain information quicker and progress more efficiently. Since there are only limited number of women players in Hong Kong, having the chance to play with different athletes here allow us to learn from them.”

Another player, Alison Siu praises the local cricket ground and facilities in India. She finds training tour in India is systematic, “we have bowling and batting sessions in morning and then fielding in the afternoon. Facilities are far better as we have access to grass wicket which is rare in Hong Kong. Atmosphere is also better in here as people who walk by the club will peek in to watch and cheer on the games.”

With the last friendly match on the 17th Nov 2017, the team will then fly to Thailand for their T20 World Cup qualifying game. “I hope to have a chance to do some batting as in the last two games I only did bowling and fielding. On top of that, I want to gain more experience by facing spin bowlers as they are very skilful which will be able to improve my batting skills in doing so.”
