23 October 2019
This season will see the launch of a new CHK initiative - the CHK Community Cricket Series. This is a series of 7 one-day or two-day Tournaments, played at various venues across Hong Kong, from December 2019 to July 2020. Each tournament will be unique and will feature various non-traditional formats of the game (e.g. Box Cricket, Indoor Cricket, Tapeball Cricket, T10 Softball etc.). These tournaments will be played at several non-traditional venues as well.
Each Tournament will be a standalone event, organized independently with their own winners and awards. However, on top of that, all participating teams will be entered into a CHK Community Series points table. Teams will earn points in this table based on their final rankings in each of the 7 tournaments. The team that tops this table at the end of the year will be crowned the CHK Community Cricket Series Champion.
The CHK CCS will be restricted to players who do not take part in the existing CHK Leagues. Any player -regardless of age- that has played a single Premier, Sunday, Saturday or Woman's League game in the current season will not be eligible to take part. Anyone who has played more than 3 Challenge League games in the current season will not be eligible either.
The first of these 7 Tournaments will be played in December 2019. More details about this will be announced due course. In order to participate in any of these tournaments, teams must first register with CHK using the form below.
The goal of the CCS is to spread cricket to a wider audience in Hong Kong. Not only will participation be limited to non-League players, but each event will be independently organized and conducted by various communities and individuals in HK. If you would like to be a part of this initiative, either as a player or an organizer, please feel free to contact us at info@hkcricket.org
