Sydney, Australia (March 14, 2021) – Global gender equality initiative, FairBreak Global, is proud to announce the dates for an Invitational Women’s Cricket T20 tournament to be staged in Hong Kong in 2022 from May 1-15. The tournament will be run in conjunction with Cricket Hong Kong, the Governing body for cricket in Hong Kong.
As the first privately funded tournament of its type, with leading healthcare group Gencor as the lead sponsor, this event marks significant progress in the development of women’s cricket. In line with their mission to progress gender equality on a global scale, FairBreak will bring together players recruited from all corners of the globe to participate in a six-team tournament.
“I cannot be prouder of the team at FairBreak and Cricket Hong Kong who have worked so diligently to bring this opportunity to the world. I’m excited for the players, particularly for Associate Nation players, and those who have lacked opportunity and recognition in this sport to date. We must always have an equal playing field that rewards talent and aspiration.” Shaun Martyn, Founder and MD, FairBreak Global.
