It is with the very greatest sadness that HKCA announces the passing on Saturday 28th May 2016 of Mrs Anita Wu Mui Chu Miles.
With the loss of Anita, Hong Kong cricket in general, and Hong Kong Women's cricket very much in particular, have lost one their greatest stalwarts. The enormous strides made in the development and establishment of the women's game in the territory simply could not, and would not, have been possible without her unstinting support, patronage, and sheer involvement at all levels.
Anita was untiring in these efforts and cricket in Hong Kong is inestimably the poorer for her loss. Her seemingly boundless enthusiasm and energy were a beacon to young girls and women who came to know and love the game through her and all knew there was always a sympathetic ear and a little advice if it was ever sought.
Our sympathies and sincere condolences go out to her immediate family, HKCA President Rodney Miles and international cricketer daughter Natasha and I know that their loss will be shared by so very many around the world who were lucky enough to have known this marvellous lady.
Put simply, Hong Kong is and will continue to be diminished by her loss. We will miss you far more than mere words can ever convey Anita.
