CHK selector Tabarak Dar is delighted to see the ACC Youth tournaments returning and the Hong Kong squad are set for a challenging and exciting set of fixtures against some of the world’s leading players at this age group.
“The squad is full of talented players, with the likes of Haroon Arshad, Nasrulla Rana and Kalhan Marc Challu already knocking on the door of the National team”.
Hong Kong U19s Head Coach Mark Farmer views The Under 19 team as the flagship side in the youth pathway in Hong Kong. The opportunity at this level provides a platform for players to develop their skills and put together performances that push their case for selection in the National A and National men’s squads.
“The squad has a nice balance of youth and experience. It is great to see some experienced faces returning, with Kabir Sodhi leading the side in what will be his last age group tournament. It also sees a number of players graduating from the Under 16 programme, notably Danyial Butt who has been rewarded for a strong domestic season last season”.
