The result was the final match of the tour to Australia and although it finished winless for Hong Kong, coach Simon Cook said it had been a valuable experience.
"It's been a great benchmark to see where the players are at and what they need to do to become the best cricketers they can be," Cook said.
"The big eye opener for us was just how often the Big Bash teams execute their basics."
"They are relentless in bowling the right areas, rotating the strike, having intent in the field and with the bat and we need to go away and emulate that."
"We competed to the level I thought we would in that we were competitive in certain aspects and periods but were found wanting in our inability to produce a complete game."
"Against these teams five bad overs cost you 60 or 70 runs and that's why we were up against 200 in two of our games."
"As a highlight you can't go past Nizakat's century against the Thunder but I thought for me Shahid Wasif and Waqas Khan really impressed as two young guys that proved they are able to compete in this arena.
