Hong Kong all-rounder Tanwir Afzal has been ruled out for the remainder the tour to Australia after fracturing his finger during a fielding practice session in Orange today.
The former captain will fly home early from the tour to have surgery with an expected recovery time of up to six weeks.
Hong Kong team physio Sarah Whitehead said;
"X-rays have revealed Tanwir has sustained a comminuted fracture to the middle finger," Whitehead said.
"Post surgery recovery time will be 4-6 weeks so we will get that done as soon as possible to give Tanwir every chance of being available for the Netherlands series in February."
Director of Cricket Charlie Burke said no replacement for the squad will be flown out.<
