The Hong Kong Under 16 squad to compete at the ACC Eastern Region U16 Tournament to be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from the 18th-29th April 2019 has been named.

The format for the tournament is 35 overs and will involve 8 countries; Bhutan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Myanmar, Nepal.

Teams will be split into two pools with the top two from each pool to progress to semi-finals and finals. Hong Kong will face off against Bhutan, China, Singapore in pool play.

Under 16 head coach Mark Farmer had this to say: It has been two years since the last ACC Under 16 tournament. The opportunity to expose a new group of players to international cricket is always very exciting.

Aarush Bhagwat and Raunaq Kapur, having previously been involved in ACC Under 16 and Under 19 tournaments will be key members of the squad. Their experience in international tournament cricket will be invaluable for the squad.

As with any tournament it is about taking it one game at a time and putting consistent performances together.
