Jhatha Subramanyan has been forced out of the Hong Kong Squad for the Asia Cup Qualifiers due to injury. Subramanyan fractured a finger in the lead up to the opening match of the tournament and has since returned to Hong Kong to undergo surgery. It is expected that Subramanyan will be out of action for several weeks as he undergoes rehabilitation after surgery.

Aftab Hussain has replaced Subramanyan in the squad and will provide an alternative spin option following on from some impressive performances in the recent A Squad tour to Malaysia in early August.
