11 September 2023

Cricket Hong Kong, China (CHK) and DLA Piper are delighted to announce a new partnership with the aim of bringing forth the future generation of Hong Kong women’s cricketers, and fast tracking their development and enhancing their pathway into the Hong Kong Women’s National Team!

The partnership will consist of two parts. The first part involves the formation of Hong Kong, China Women’s Under-16 and Under-19 squads on a yearly basis. The objective of this is to provide high quality coaching to the selected players in order to enhance their skills and prepare them to play International youth cricket. The formation of this aligned pathway will also help to provide a constant stream of players into local, representative and, eventually, the International Women’s teams.

The second part of this partnership is conducting the DLA Piper Women’s All Stars Series. This tournament will see two teams - the “Bauhinia Stars” and the “Jade Jets” - comprising of the best female cricketers in Hong Kong competing in a series of T20 matches every season. All games of the “DLA Piper Women’s All Stars Series” will be broadcast live around the globe, with several players making their way into the teams through the newly launched Pathway programs.

Burji Shroff, Chairperson of Cricket Hong Kong, China said, “The support provided by DLA Piper will accelerate the growth of Women’s Cricket in Hong Kong, China. Our women’s team has made big strides over the last few years, and this program will ensure that our upcoming cricketers get the support and exposure to high-quality cricket that they need in order to continue their development towards becoming future Hong Kong International Cricketers.”
