Hong Kong was not able to qualify for the Asia Cup as they lost to Thailand on the final day of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Asia Qualifiers. Thailand won the championship and booked a place in the global qualifiers.

Hong Kong had a shaky start to the match, losing three wickets in the first four overs. Moved to the opening position, Keenu Gill produced 11 runs from 14 balls.

Captain Mariko Hill scored 11 off the same number of balls, but her short time in the crease was a major blow for the home team.

Playing for the first time in this tournament, Wing-Ki Lai scored 16, while Yasmin Daswani provided 17 runs coming in at number 7.

Thailand Captain and all-rounder Sornnarin Tippoch did most of the damage, with 2/11.

Thailand’s chase was strong from the start despite losing a wicket in the third over. Opener Sirintra Saensakorat smashed a team-high 36 including 4 fours.

Eventual Player of the Tournament Sornnarin Tippoch scored 17 to give Thailand a fifth win out of six games in the tournament.

“I think everyone came off the field saying ‘we’ve tried our best’. We put our hearts out to the very end.” said Hong Kong Captain and Batsman of the Tournament Mariko Hill.

“This was my first tournament in Hong Kong. The support was awesome.”

“It means a lot. I have never gotten Batsman of the Tournament before.”

“Mentally, I was never strong. Getting this award, for my batting especially, really puts confidence to myself,” said Hill.

China vs Nepal

China 85/7 (20 overs), Nepal 88/6 (17.3 overs)

Nepal won by 4 wickets (with 15 balls remaining)

Nepal beat China to earn second place in the tournament, hence clinching their spot in the Asia Cup competition.

Batting first, China’s openers batted patiently and scored steadily. Feng-Feng Song scored 34 while Miao Zou scored 18, providing an opening partnership of 42 runs.

The usually dependent Captain Zhuo Huang came was trapped LBW for a golden duck. It was 45/2 at the fall of her wicket in the 13th over.

Nepalese Captain Rubina Chhetry Belbashi bowled out two batsmen in two consecutive balls in the 17th over, leaving China in desperation.

Yu-Dain Chai was able to resurrect the score by adding 10 runs, bringing the total to 85.

Nepal’s chase had a good start with opener Sita Rana Magar scoring 20 off 24 balls. 13 runs in the fourth over set the tone for the chase.

Number five batter Nairry Thapa knocked 22 off 27 balls to give further boost to the run chase.

Captain Rubina Chhetry Belbashi scored 13 runs, including the winning runs to seal Nepal’s third win in the tournament.

China’s bowler Jie Liu went for 1/9, while the eventual Bowler of the Tournament Ying-Ying Li went for 1/14.

香港 對 泰國

香港得83分，7人出局。泰國86分，3人出局。

泰國成功追分，提早得勝。

女子板球世界盃亞洲外圍賽最後一日賽事，港隊敗於泰國，未能以名次晉身亞洲盃賽事。泰國則成為冠軍，晉級世界盃國際外圍賽。

港隊首先擊球，開局不穩，首四回合已經有三人出局。今仗被調至開局位置的星杞姍取得11分。

隊長Mariko Hill 11球得11分，但是太早出局令港隊出現危機。

今次賽事中首次上陣的賴穎琪取得16分，而第七名上陣的Yasmin Daswani則取得17分。

泰國隊長Sornnarin Tippoch是隊中最佳投手，取得兩個出局，只失11分。

攻守交換，泰國雖然在第三回合已經有球手出局，但是得分效率頗高。開局球手Sirintra Saensakorat取得全隊最高36分。

最後成為賽事最佳球員的隊長 Sornnarin Tippoch 取得17分，協助泰國在六場賽事中取得第五勝。

香港隊長Mariko Hill 賽後獲頒賽事最佳擊球手獎，她表示：「港隊每一位球員都已經用盡全力，奮戰到賽事最後一刻。」

「這次是我第一次主場出戰國際賽，球迷及親友的支持非常厲害。」

「這個個人獎項對我意義重大，我從來沒有當選過最佳擊球手。我以前的心理質素不算好，這個獎項絕對令我信心大增。」

尼泊爾擊敗中國，得到賽事第二名，成功取得亞洲盃資格。

中國先擊球，開局先鋒宋鳳鳳得到34分、鄒淼得到18分，有一個好開始。

得分主力兼隊長黃卓其後上陣，但是面對第一個投球便被殺出局，為中國隊蒙上陰影。

尼泊爾隊長Rubina Chhetry Belbashi在第17局連續兩球投殺，令中國隊得分受制，最後總分得到85分。

尼泊爾的追分局早段強勁，單單在第四回合已經取得13分。
