Cricket Hong Kong have announced the Hong Kong Men’s Squad to compete at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Challenge League B Tournament to be held in Oman from the 30th November - 13th December, 2019.
The format for the tournament is 50 overs and will involve six countries; Italy, Bermuda, Jersey, Kenya, Uganda and Hong Kong. The six countries will play each other once throughout the tournament.
This is the first of three Challenge League B tournaments to be held over the next three years. At the conclusion of the three tournaments, the team with the most points will progress to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off in 2022.
Hong Kong Men’s Coach Trent Johnston had this to say “As we head into this tournament in Oman we have created an excellent environment and are very much committed to applying the lessons learnt from our previous two tours. Our young team has risen to many challengers and with eight debutants in Bangladesh I’m excited to see what this group will bring in Oman.”
He went on to say “Although we aren’t playing in Hong Kong as previously planned we are looking forward to playing in Oman, facilities we know well”.
