Hong Kong made the highest total of the day as they faced Myanmar at AIT and they reached an impressive 253 for 4 in 35 overs. Adit Gorawara and Tej Sheopuri provided an excellent start with an opening stand of 77 and Kalhan Challu made 64 from 67 balls as he became the first batsman to pass fifty in the tournament.
Hong Kong wasted little time in the field as they won by the commanding margin of 212 runs as Myanmar were bowled out for 41 in 16.2 overs with Mohammad Hassan returning the remarkable figures of 6 for 8.
Tuesday will see another round of group matches being played as Group A sees Nepal face Hong Kong at Terdthai and Thailand play Myanmar at AIT. Group B sees Malaysia face China at Prem, while Singapore play Bhutan at Royals.
All teams play three matches in the group stages and the top two teams in each group go through to the semi-finals played in Bangkok on Saturday.
