Thailand 107/6 (20 overs), China 32 all out (12.1 overs), Thailand won by 75 runs

Thailand opened the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifiers Asia Tournament with a big victory over China at Tin Kwong Recreation Ground.

Openers Nattakan Chantam (14) and Sirintra Saensakorat (19) provided a good platform for Thailand. An unbeaten 24 from Ratanaporn Padunglerd gave Thailand a mid-innings push as they finished their 20 overs with 107 runs.

Zhou Caiyun led China’s bowler with 2/27 in four overs.

It was a one-sided affair when China batted, Zhou Caiyun was caught out on the fourth ball into the innings for a duck and they never recovered.

The second wicket came in the second over when Song Fengfeng (9) was caught behind as wickets fell steadily afterwards. China were eventually all out for 32 runs after 12.1 overs.

Suleeporn Laomi and Wongpaka Liengpraert each took two wickets for Thailand, while the Player of the Match was Captain Sornnarin Tippocj, who produced 1/5 in three overs.

Hong Kong vs Nepal

Nepal 77 all out (19.2 overs), Hong Kong 78/4 (16.3 overs)
Hong Kong won by 6 wickets (with 21 balls remaining)

Tournament hosts Hong Kong began the tournament with a victory after a calm run-chase saw them defeat Nepal.

Nepal did not have the perfect start as they lost opening batsman Jyoti Pandey on the fourth ball.

But Nirmala Kumari Shahi (18) gave Nepal a boost, but the Hong Kong bowlers were able to limit the away team’s run rate throughout the rest of the innings.

This was mainly due to the regular wickets taken, which was evidenced by the highest partnership being limited to just 16.

Nepal was all out for 77 with four balls left in the innings.

Skipper Mariko Hill, Ka-Man Chan and Sau-Har Chan each took two wickets for Hong Kong.

Hong Kong’s response got off to a strong start thanks to opening batter Sze-Wan Yip’s 33 runs off 39 balls.

Yasmin Daswani scored 15, while Player of the Match Mariko Hill (10) and Shanzeen Shahzad (11) finished off the chase at the 17th over.

Captain and Player of the Match Mariko Hill was extremely proud of her team’s performance.

“It’s a massive boost for us, it will give us a lot of confidence as we performed how we wanted,” Hill said.

“We’ve never played international cricket at home so to see our family and friends here means a lot.”

“We’ve got China tomorrow and it will be a completely different game, the outfield is so small so we will plan tonight and start again tomorrow.”

揭幕戰：泰國大勝中國

泰國得107分，六人出局，中國得32分，全數出局。泰國以75分之差擊敗中國。

泰國隊勝出擲毫，選擇先擊球。開局擊球手Nattakan Chantam (14分) 及Sirintra Saensakorat (19分) 為球隊打好基礎。球局中段上陣的Ratanaporn Padunglerd 取得全隊最高的24分，泰國完成20回合後取得107分。

中國投手周彩雲表現最佳取得兩個出局，失27分。

輪到中國隊擊球，形勢變得一面倒。球局只是進行了四球，周彩雲就被接殺。宋鳳鳳在第二回合亦被接殺，取得九分，已經是全隊最高。其後中國隊擊球手持續被殺出局，最後在第13個回合全數出局，只得32分。

泰國隊投手Suleeporn Laomi 及 Wongpaka Liengpraert 各有兩個出局，而隊長兼今仗最佳球員 Sornnarin Tippocj 則投球三回合，有一個出局，只失五分。

香港輕鬆擊敗尼泊爾

尼泊爾77分全數出局，香港78分提早勝出，四人出局

主場的香港隊以出色的投球壓低對方的得分，並以冷靜的擊球成功擊敗尼泊爾。

港隊先投球，於開賽後第四球便將尼泊爾擊球手 Jyoti Pandey 殺出局。

雖然尼泊爾有Nirmala Kumari Shahi擊出18分，但港隊投手繼續給予對手很大壓力。隊長Mariko Hill、陳嘉瑩及陳秀霞分別取得兩個出局。

尼泊爾最後取得77分，令港隊的追分難度大大減低。

攻守交換，港隊進攻開局凌厲，開局球手葉詩韻取得全場最高33分，為港隊信心大增。

Yasmin Daswani亦取得15分，加上隊長Mariko Hill的10分及李芷心的11分為港隊奠定勝局，

隊長Mariko Hill更奪得比賽最佳球員，她對球隊表現感到自豪：「這場勝利為球隊打下強心針，因為我們做到賽前目標，大大增強信心。」

「我們從來沒有試過在主場出戰國際賽，很高興有很多家人朋友在場支持。」

「我們明日將會在香港木球會面對中國，場地較小，需要重新部署策略。」
