"Plans are well underway for the tournament now in 2017 and there's been some really positive feedback from 2016," Tournament Chief Max Abbott said.
"We've gone from a 7 week to a 7 month lead time and the lessons we learned in the first year will prove valuable for staging a successful second edition."
"At this stage we will be locking the tournament at five teams at least for 2018 and likely 2019 so this is the time to sign up and be a part of it."
"We've had some really good applications so far, but of course to get the best candidate we want to cast the net as wide as we can."
"This tournament is a huge part of our long term strategy to grow cricket in Hong Kong and it will go hand-in-hand with the Sixes later in 207."
In 2017 teams will be permitted up to five overseas players and the opportunity to compete for a minimum prize pool of HK$150,000.
