Selection Announcement Exciting Hangzhou 2023 Women's East Asian Cup

Cricket Hong Kong, China has announced the 14-player squad to compete at the Exciting Hangzhou 2023 Women's East Asian Cup to be held in Hangzhou, China from the 23rd – 29th May 2023.

The 2023 edition of the East Asian Cup will be competed between China, Japan and Hong Kong, China with Korea unable to attend this year’s tournament.

General Manager – High Performance, Mark Farmer said, “We have selected a squad largely based around Asian Games eligible players. There are several new faces in the squad who we have every confidence can make the step up to international cricket. Playing at the venue for the Asian Games later in the year is a bonus that will give us valuable experience that will only benefit the squad in preparing for the Asian Games in September.”

Kary Chan will lead a squad that has six changes from the squad that competed in the recent Capricorn Quad series in Namibia.

Farmer went on to say: “It’s exciting to test the depth of our women’s squad alongside preparing for the Asian Games. This tour will provide experience and opportunities that will contribute significantly to the continued development of our women’s squad as we look ahead to major tournaments in the Asian Games and World Cup Qualifiers later in the year.” 

The team will arrive in China on the 23rd May ahead of their first game on the 25th May 2023.
