Women’s Twenty20 Cup - Match Report (6th March 2016)Once again there were only two matches played in this week’s Women’s T20 Cup competition. However, there were two excellent games played, showing how well Hong Kong’s women’s cricket has developed over the past few years. In the first game of the day, HKCC Cavaliers defeated KCC Maidens by five runs in an entertaining match that went down to the wire. The Cavaliers team elected to bat first and they have Natural Yip (64) and Emma Lai (34*) to thank for them reaching 5/139 from their 20 overs. Godiva Li was the pick of the bowlers for KCC by claiming 3/23 from her four over spell. The Maidens reply got off to a good start with sisters Keenu (25) and Reenu Gill (32) putting on 61 runs for the first wicket. However, three quick wickets set them back to 3/63 and from there they weren’t able to chase down the Cavaliers’ total despite the efforts of Amanda Kwok and Godiva Li who hit 31* and 22 respectively.
