120th Anniversary of League Cricket in Hong Kong, China

13 October 2023

This season marks the 120th year anniversary of League Cricket in Hong Kong!

The first organised Hong Kong Cricket League was played in 1903-04, with the Secretariat based at the Craigengower Cricket Club, and the first match played between CCC and the Civil Servants Cricket Club on 24th Oct 1903. Starting with 8 teams, the Hong Kong league cricket has since grown to encompass over 180 teams across Men’s, Women’s and Junior competitions!

In celebration of this historic occasion, a function was held at the Craigengower Cricket Club featuring club representatives, government officials, sponsors, and members of the national squads.

To honour this occasion, the CHK Saturday League Division 2 match between CCC Hung See and Centaurs CC has been scheduled to take place on 14th October at Gin Drinkers Bay - as close as possible to the date of the original fixture 120 years ago!

Thank you to all the clubs, the HKSAR government, and our various sponsors and supporters who have made this possible throughout the years.
