Cricket Hong Kong, China and Malaysia Cricket Association are pleased to announce three bilateral tournaments during the month of February 2024!

The Malaysia Senior Men’s team will tour Hong Kong for the Men’s One Day Series featuring Canada, and will then stay back to play against the Hong Kong, China men’s team in three One Day matches on 6th, 8th and 9th February 2024. This three match series has a long history of bilateral interport matches dating back to 1890, when a visiting team from The Straits Settlements visited Hong Kong to play two matches at the HKCC Charter Road ground. This was the first ever ‘Interport’ cricket match, a tradition that carried on for 97 years, and was recently revived with a 5-match T20I series in Malaysia in 2020.

Not limited to the Men's Team, the bilateral tournaments will also see the Hong Kong, China U19 squads, both Men's and Women's, traveling to Malaysia to compete against the Malaysia U19 squads in a series of 50 Over and T20 matches respectively. The Hong Kong U19 Boys will travel to Johor Bahru for a three-match 50-over series against the Malaysia U19 team, while the Hong Kong U19 Girls team will journey to Penang for a four-match T20 series against Malaysia U19s.

Burji Shroff, Chairperson of Cricket Hong Kong, China, expressed deep appreciation for the efforts made by the Malaysia Cricket Association (MCA) in hosting their Men's and Women's U19 teams. "We are extremely grateful to the Malaysia Cricket Association for their dedication and support in hosting our Men's and Women's U19 teams," stated Burji Shroff. "Our bond with the MCA has grown stronger over time, nurturing a great friendship between our cricketing communities. The upcoming tournaments present another exciting opportunity for us to come together and showcase the talent and potential of our U19 players."

The long-standing association between Malaysia Cricket Association and Cricket Hong Kong, China has fostered a deep friendship and a shared passion for the sport. Both organizations have worked closely together to promote cricket and provide valuable opportunities for players to compete at the international level.

The Hong Kong, China Women’s U19 squad will depart on 9th February 2024. While the Men’s U19 squad will depart on the 10th February 2024.
